Thoughts

Mum left a note in her desk that she had clearly found and liked which we only uncovered after her funeral, otherwise we may have chosen to read it on the day. It is so poignant, particularly as I found it at a particularly low point when clearing some of her things, so I wanted to share it: When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heavens Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me "Welcome Home". So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart. It couldn't be more apt for you Mum - with all our love Nicola, Bill and Albany xxx

Mum (Gill) was the local board secretary for the U3A Group and loved it, throwing herself in with both feet, to learn handbell ringing, lead the Armchair Travel group and generally get involved with the many activities of this fabulous group of local retirees. #Learningnotlonely is their motto, and Mum was an absolute model of that, embracing everything she did with passion, commitment and enthusiasm. Thank you for your support of the local branch of the U3A which was a very important part of Mum’s life in recent years. She would appreciate it greatly.
